[1PL-01]Synthetic biology and biomanufacturing: from basic research to application

In addition to its importance in basic research to design biomolecules and organisms, a key issue of synthetic biology is how to transfer basic research and achievements into applications including treating diseases and biomanufacturing of chemicals and materials. I will first briefly describe the trends and needs of synthetic biology from the perspectives of transferring basic research into application, especially for biomanufacturing. I will then share some of our work and experiences in basic research in synthetic biology of energy metabolism and biocondensates. Specifically, I will introduce our latest progresses in basic research in C1-Cx Synthetic Biology and Condensates Synthetic Biology and their applications for next generation of biomanufacturing based on one-carbon compound (CO2, methanol etc.) and for future biomaterials and biomedicals.
