Through collaborations across the USA, UK, Belgium, and Japan, the ASPIRE team aims to establish an innovative green biotechnology platform that advances the bioeconomy and sustainable agriculture. By investigating regulatory mechanisms underlying plant induced reprogramming, we apply cutting-edge single-cell and spatial transcriptomic technologies to uncover novel regulators of cell fate transitions. These approaches have enabled the generation of comprehensive datasets for regeneration, symbiosis, and plant–microbe interactions, as well as high-resolution mapping of transcriptional dynamics within intact tissues. Building on these findings, we are developing new strategies to enhance plant resilience and functionality via targeted modulation of regeneration and biotic interactions. The program also promotes international mobility of early career researchers through exchanges, joint activities, and symposia, fostering globally engaged future leaders. This session highlights how ASPIRE is building an international research community driving transformative technologies for sustainable agriculture and the future bioeconomy.
