The DNA molecules encode the information for biological systems to carry out a broad range of functions. Progressing from the discovery, sequencing, and editing of DNA, we are at the dawn of a transformative era of designing and writing large DNA and ultimately whole genomes. The ability to construct synthetic DNA of any sequence, length and complexity, and the extended capacity to assemble synthetic and/or chimeric genomes, will broadly impact diverse aspects of academic research and industrial application.

This talk will cover our on-going work to expand the capacity of DNA and genome writing, in particular multiple breakthroughs to construct any DNA of any complexity. The newly gained freedom in DNA construction unlocks great opportunities and enables expanded vision in collaborations.
