Magneto-reflectance has been investigated on the single crystal of the elemental bismuth in high magnetic fields up to B = 15 T. In addition to the Landau-level transitions, a strong structure was observed in the quantum limit at B // trigonal, which was attributed to a branch of the collective modes of an electron-hole system.
