We investigate the 2D plasma resonances in a split-ring resonator (SRR) based on a high-mobility
2DES. Introducing a split into the ring-shaped mesa gives rise to an additional 1D-like plasmon resonance exhibiting strong polarization dependence. We also address the tunability of the plasmon resonances in the SRR-shaped 2DES.
