We revisit scaling relations for chemical potentials of 2D quantum dots, incorporating lever-arm variations. Numerical investigations show that using the actual, non-constant lever-arm value is crucial for accurately interpreting Coulomb-blockade experiments and identifying charge/confinement regimes.
