We demonstrate broadband sub-THz to THz upconversion via four-wave mixing in HgTe heterostructures. Strong third-order nonlinearity and long carrier scattering times enable efficient frequency conversion, yielding field efficiencies above 2% at room temperature, supported by measurements of the underlying carrier dynamics.
