We report on the experimental observation of large polaron formation in time- and momentum-resolved photoemission electron microscopy (PEEM) experiments after pulsed (50 fs) photoexcitation of BiOI nanoplatelets. A doubling of the effective mass and a decrease of the conduction-band energy nicely follow Fröhlich's theoretical predictions.
