Chiral phonons are rotating lattice vibrations that emerge in materials such as hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) and transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs). We develop a symmetry-adapted first-principles phonon calculations, enabling quantitative evaluation of angular momentum and predicting the existence of chiral phonons in MoSe2/WSe2.
