[We-P-70]Mechanism of Light Absorption in Ultrablack Sputtered Zn Nanostructured films: A Combined Core-Shell Plasmonic and Effective Medium Approach

We observe ultra-black appearance of nanocoral porous Zn films. We explain it using a core-shell plasmonic model. Dielectric loading from a native ZnO shell maximizes absorption cross-sections, while a hierarchical "reef" structure promotes multiple scattering and efficient light trapping.
