[We-P-77]A Quantum Dot in an Open Microcavity as a High-Rate Source of Polarization Entangled Photon Pairs

Self-assembled semiconductor QDs have proven to be very bright sources of coherent, single photons. We use our high-efficiency source to produce millions of polarization-entangled photon pairs per second with a probabilistic scheme, with entanglement fidelities of 96%. This value can be increase to 98% by rejecting multi-photon emission events.
