Through support from a NASA Science Activation award, Fiske Planetarium has produced a full dome film series titled Science through Shadows. These short 10 minute full dome films focus on astronomical phenomena involving planetary alignments and shadows ... specifically eclipses, occultations, and transits. These predictable events provide opportunities for ground-based observations that advance our understanding of heliophysics, minor planets and solar system origins and evolution, and exoplanet characteristics. Every Science through Shadows episode is produced in both English and Spanish and is free and available to every planetarium across the globe. To date over 750 planetariums in over 70 countries have downloaded free Fiske full dome content.

During this presentation, we will share samples of Science through Shadows full dome content and discuss uses of short length film content in planetarium environments based upon input from planetariums that are using Science through Shadows. We will also discuss the importance and implementation of language translations in full dome theaters.

Participants will be encouraged to learn more about this project and access full dome films through https://www.colorado.edu/fiske/projects/science-through-shadows.
