Aim/Objectives:
Live streaming of fulldome format video to planetarium domes can be a valuable addition to planetarium programming, enabling novel types of presentations. However, it is not broadly employed as of yet, presumably due to certain technological challenges. We have researched the views and needs of the community regarding the use of dome streaming, and we present our results and discuss future technology and content development. The aim of this panel will be to motivate a broader use of fulldome streaming formats throughout the community, by presenting on concrete experiences and test cases, as well as by highlighting current challenges and needs of both content creators and recipients.
