Zabadak is a renowned Japanese music group led by Tomohiko Kira (1959-2016). They made their major label debut in 1986 on Tohshiba EMI and are still active today. During this time, they have released over 50 CDs as a leader. His music, which focuses on astronomical phenomena and the cosmos, has provided healing to people of all ages who are interested in nature, the night sky, and the universe. They have released representative space-related works such as "Tooi Ongaku" (1990) and "Harvest Rain" (1990), and in 1995, they released an album themed on Kenji Miyazawa's literature including "The Night of the Milky Way Train" and else. These songs speak to his deep fascination with space, nature, and literature. He has also provided music for Japan's most prestigious broadcaster , NHK program, and has become nationally renowned as a composer. He has also released instrumental pieces such as "Sakura".In 1999, Saito and Muramatsu planned and hosted the successful music event "Zabanetarium" at the Gotoh Planetarium in Shibuya, Tokyo. ”Zabanetarium" is a portmanteau of the words "zabadak" and "planetarium."After that, Zabadak was introduced by enthusiastic planetarian in planetariums all over Japan, including planetarium of Katsushika, Koriyama, Tamarokuto, Galaxcity, and etc.A concert was also held at the Palais de la Découverte Planetarium in Paris, France.Saito suggested the name "Zabadak" to asteroid found by Muramatsu, who is also an asteroid hunter, and in 2000, the International Astronomical Union (IAU) named asteroid 10566 "Zabadak." (MPC 39656) Sadly, Kira passed away suddenly in August 2016, but Zabadak's music is still heard by many planetarium audiences and remains deeply etched in their hearts.
