Keywords:

- Objectives
To help planetarium filmmakers create more engaging works by enriching narrative structure, context, and world-building. Today, many fulldome films excel in factual content but struggle to deliver a strong narrative arc, deep emotional immersion, and a cinematic approach that matches the magic of giant dome theaters. This presentation will share concrete methods to elevate storytelling, sensory experience, and emotional impact in immersive productions.
- Abstract
This workshop will guide you through every stage of crafting a fulldome film scenario using real examples from recent productions. Starting from a basic concept to the final script, the process will be demystified, covering elements such as storyboarding, moodboarding, cinematographic direction, soundtrack, and more. Led by Sébastien Gauthier, multi-award-winning director and writer, the session will also reveal his personal approach and creative toolkit for immersive screenwriting.
Engagement is encouraged, as the audience will be invited to actively participate in creating key components discussed during the workshop, crafting a hypothetical film scene.
Total time you would request for a session
45 to 60 minutes (60 minutes allows for more audience participation)
- Maximum number of participants (for workshops)
Up to 75
