限局性LD（SLD）や注意欠如・多動症（ADHD）は、米国の人口の5〜10％に影響を与える最も一般的な神経発達障害のうちの2つです（米国国立衛生研究所）。他の先進国でも同様の出現率が報告されています。臨床サンプルと地域ベースのサンプルの両方で、SLDの診断基準を満たす子どもの3分の1が、ADHDの基準も満たしていることが示されています（Willcutt, Pennington & DeFries, 2000年）。今回の講演では、SLDとADHDの併存の原因を説明する重要な研究知見の概要、臨床像と事例、そしてエビデンスから示唆されるアセスメントと対応について議論を行います。

A specific learning disability (SLD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) are two of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders impacting 5-10% of the U.S. population (National Institutes of Health). Similar prevalence estimates are reported in other developed countries. Both clinical and community samples indicate that as much as a third of the children meeting diagnostic criteria for a specific learning disability also meet criteria for ADHD (Willcutt, Pennington & DeFries, 2000). The current presentation will include a brief overview of the important research findings that aim to explain the underlying etiology of the comorbidity between SLD and ADHD, clinical presentation and case examples, and a discussion of implications for evidence-based assessment and treatment.
