Investigation of the Cs+-exchange properties of microporous Na-GTS crystal is important for the application of GTS to the removal of Cs radioisotopes from the radioactive waste water. The Er3+-exchanged form of Na-GTS is promising as fluorescent materials. The Cs+- and Er3+-exchanged forms with high ion-exchange rates were obtained after the ion-exchange treatments of the hydrothermally synthesized Na-GTS. In these samples, the cation distribution of Cs+ and Er3+ in the cavity will be discussed from the comparison of the observed and simulated XRD patterns.
