[R3-07] High-pressure phase relations in chromite spinel-bearing systems

Phase relations in the systems MgCr₂O₄-Mg₂SiO₄ and CaMgSi₂O₆-MgCr₂O₄ were determined at pressures up to 28 GPa in the temperature range of 1200-1600 ^oC. Based on the experimental results, it was concluded that the ultra-high pressure chromitites experienced pressures of at most 10-13 GPa which correspond to the upper mantle conditions.
