Recent studies have suggested the possibility of water transportation into the deep mantle by hydrous silicate through the deep plate subduction. Here we show the experimental results on the reaction mechanisms and kinetics between hydrous mineral delta AlOOH at 25 GPa. We found that an FeO layer is formed as the reaction rim and the reaction rate is likely controlled by O and H diffusions in anhydrous mineral. The reaction rate is high enough to make large FeO layer at the core mantle boundary.
