Keywords:

Nano-Polycrystalline Diamond (NPD),High pressure,C-H-O fluid,TEM

We performed a series of high-pressure and high-temperature experiments using multi-anvil apparatus and found that yellowish NPD-like diamond was obtained from a decomposition product of stearic acid. Recovered samples was observed by TEM to characterize the microtexture of diamond synthesized from stearic acid. The formation temperature of this diamond is about 800℃ and significantly lower than that of previous NPD from graphite.
