We checked the notation of mineral names in the textbooks of five junior high school science textbooks. As a result, two types of notation of mineral names in junior high school science textbooks were clarified: kanji notation and katakana notation mixed with kanji. There are two problems with this disagreement: firstly it puts a burden on the learning of junior high school students, and secondly it is necessary to teach all patterns in teacher training at the university.
We think we need guidelines like "Guidelines for mineral names used in textbooks".
