Recent developments in laser ablation ICP mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) have made it possible to extract chronological data from a wide variety of mineral species. We conducted in-situ U–Pb dating of garnet, titanite and apatite occurring in a pelitic schist collected from Menipa, Sør Rondane Mountains (SRM) using LA-ICP-MS. The U–Pb ages of garnet, titanite, apatite were 612.2±7.7 Ma, 527±11 Ma, 496.0±8.6 Ma, respectively. From the age data, 100 million years of history in SRM can be decoded.
