Spinifex-like textured metaperidotites from the Higo metamorphic rocks have been interpreted as dehydrated antigorite serpentinite at high-P and high-T condition (P>1.6GPa, T = 740-750 ºC). However, nature of their protoliths has not been well discussed because of their severely recrystallized mineral assemblages. We found less-recrystallized pyroxenite samples from two areas in Kumamoto prefecture. We describe their petrological and geochemical features and try to reveal their formation process(es) at igneous stage.
