Development of simultaneous measurements of electrical resistivity and elastic-wave velocity of rock at high pressure

Elastic wave velocity is sensitive to crack geometry, whereas electrical resistivity is highly dependent on crack connectivity. Therefore, simultaneous measurements of elastic-wave velocity and resistivity provide various properties of cracks in the rock. We have developed a system to simultaneously measure resistivity and elastic-wave velocity under high pressure (up to 200 MPa).
