The dissolution resistance of amorphous silica and silicates is enhanced by the incorporation of metals such as Al and Fe. To clarify the mechanism, the intermediate-range order of amorphous silicates was analyzed using RMC modeling. Metal incorporation promoted large-membered ring formation, which may enhance dissolution resistance.
