Effect of mold preheating on the viscous flow forming of Zr-based metallic glass rivets using a DC inverter resistance welding machine was investigated. Preheating the mold to 100 °C improved filling by maintaining a low-viscosity supercooled liquid state. Hardness tests confirmed that the rivet shank remained amorphous without crystallization.
