Soft actuators operating at low voltages are attracting attention for soft robotics. To improve the durability of ionic polymer–metal composites (IPMCs), Ag nano-island electrodes were embedded in Nafion by ion-exchange-assisted metallization, and their electromechanical performance was evaluated.
