Mg–Y–Zn alloys with a long-period stacking ordered (LPSO) phase exhibit excellent strength and ductility after extrusion. Micro-tensile tests clarified factors affecting mechanical properties of α-Mg and LPSO worked-grain regions. Results showed that initial dislocation density influences mechanical properties of both regions.
