Fe-Co-Ni-B multicomponent alloy nanoparticles were synthesized by electroless reduction in w/o emulsions. The ~5 nm amorphous particles exhibited lower HER overpotential than Co-B and Ni-B, indicating enhanced catalytic activity from alloying.
