[30]Ageing-Induced Precipitation Evolution in Al–Zn–Mg Alloys with Cu Addition

The effects of Cu content and natural aging on the precipitation behavior of Al-6.0Zn-1.0Mg-xCu alloys were investigated by tensile testing and TEM/STEM. Natural aging altered the strengthening response. η-type triangular precipitates were observed in the 3 wt.% Cu alloy.
