La-based metallic glass was processed by high-pressure torsion (HPT) to investigate Anti-Free Volume (Anti-FV) and elastic stress fields, and their effects on stress relaxation. Anti-FV acted as an effective STZ activation site, while the elastic stress field suppressed STZ activation.
