Quenched carbon steel exhibits blue brittleness at 300–350 °C, though its mechanism remains unclear. An Fe–0.34%C alloy was prepared using high-purity iron to investigate this phenomenon. Hardness and rolling reduction tests were also conducted on SHP50 specimens tempered at 320 °C.
