Using Cr and Pd as underlayers, we investigated the fabrication conditions required to achieve high orientation of these layers on MgO(100) substrates, as well as the influence of these underlayers on the crystallinity, crystal orientation, and magnetic properties of α”-Fe16N2 thin films.
