Chemical short-range order (CSRO) evolution and its mechanical impact were compared in Ni-33at.%V and equi-atomic NiCoV alloys. CSRO had little effect on Ni-33V, whereas NiCoV showed enhanced yield strength, strain hardening, and early-stage dislocation density, suggesting that the mechanical role of CSRO varies with chemical complexity.
