Microstructure evolution of a TiZrNbTaMo alloy at 800°C was observed by high-temperature in-situ EBSD. Early in heating, new grains with different orientations from the matrix formed near grain boundaries with Zr concentration. These grains grew selectively along Zr-rich regions rather than uniformly into grain interiors.
