Heating an ethylene glycol solution containing NiSO₄ and CoSO₄ at 190 °C for 12 h in the presence of tetramethylammonium sulfate resulted in Ni selectivity/recovery of 97%/94% and Co selectivity/recovery of 98%/99%. This simple heating process enables the high-purity separation of Ni and Co from a mixed metal sulfate solution.
