Our laboratory discovered that the lithium composite oxide (Li₂ZrO₃) could not only absorb atmospheric CO₂ upon air exposure at room temperature but also decompose H₂O to store hydrogen (H). Accordingly, it was also found that CH4, one of carbon hydrates, could be released at low temperature of approximately 493 K from the air exposed-Li₂ZrO₃.
