The relationship between the single-crystal growth process of β-type Ti–Nb alloys formed by flat-top-LPBF and the accompanying cellular dendrite growth behavior is not yet understood. In this study, we analyze the single-crystal growth and cellular dendrite growth behavior of a β-type Ti–42 wt.% Nb alloy in flat-top-LPBF.
