This study investigates the microstructure and stress relaxation behavior of pure Cu and Nb to assess dwell fatigue in Cu/Nb multilayers. Stress relaxation was observed in both materials, and future work will compare these results with multilayers to clarify the relationship between stress redistribution and fatigue life reduction.
