Al–Zn–Mg alloys are age-hardenable materials. This study compared an Al–4Zn–2Mg (at%) alloy with 0.5 wt% Cu or Ag additions to a base alloy. The 0.5 wt% Ag alloy showed the highest tensile strength, consistent with hardness results, while elongation depended on aging temperature and fracture behavior observed by SEM.
