Keywords:

abnormal grain growth

This study investigates abnormal grain growth (AGG) during solution heat treatment of polycrystalline Ni-based superalloy RR1073. Observing in-situ inside HT-LCSM and EBSD/EDS analyses reveal that AGG initiates via strain-induced boundary migration and continues by capillary-driven growth under super-solvus conditions.
