Ken Mukamal has served as a general internist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for the last 32 years. He completed medical school at the University of California in San Francisco and residency training at Yale-New Haven Hospital. After one year as a hospitalist, he joined the faculty at BIDMC and Harvard Medical School in 1994, where he has practiced primary care, conducted clinical and population research, and served as Associate Director for the internal medicine residency program. He also directs the Hinohara Primary Care Fellowship Program, which funds young Japanese primary care physicians to spend a year honing their educational, research, and leadership skills in Boston.
