In Mine-Akiyoshidai Karst Plateau Geopark, our every activity is conducted under the concept of ‘be one with the earth; help each other’. Through the conservation and utilisation of the earth’s geological heritage, these activities work towards the realisation of the Sustainable Development Goals, which exist for the purpose of achieving UNESCO’s core principle of building peace in the hearts of men and women. This presentation will explain what this concept means in reality, and will introduce the activities already put into practice and plans to be executed in the future in Mine-Akiyoshidai Karst Plateau Geopark, as we look towards achieving UNESCO Global Geopark status.
