Exploration of novel therapeutics targeting retinal blood flow and neurons in rat models of vision loss

This symposium, entitled Visualization of Fluid Circulation and Parenchymal Crosstalk, will feature cutting-edge studies that illuminate the dynamic microenvironment underlying pathophysiological processes. We will discuss how these findings can be translated into novel strategies for drug target discovery. Topics include fluorescent imaging analyses of cerebral blood flow and neuronal injury in zebrafish models of ischemia, investigations of the relationship between retinal circulation and neurodegeneration, elucidation of cerebral blood flow regulation in response to atmospheric pressure fluctuations, and advanced visualization of microcirculation using ultrasonic and photoacoustic microscopy. Through these multidisciplinary perspectives, the symposium aims to deepen our understanding of the physiological and pathological significance of fluid-parenchymal interactions.
