Chemical Biology based on covalent labeling of biomolecules

A variety of techniques have been integratively utilized to analyze the structure and function of biomolecules. In the field of chemical biology, molecular tools and probes have been developed to enable the analysis of biomolecules in living cells, tissues and organisms. In recent years, in addition to bioimaging, methodologies based on the labeling (chemical modification) of biomolecules have been actively explored and established. By fixing the spatiotemporal snapshots of molecules of interest via covalent chemical bonds, these approaches can be readily combined with a wide range of established analytical techniques, allowing for more detailed and precise analysis and understanding. In my talk, I would like to introduce chemical biology-tools/probes based on our original biomolecular labeling method in live systems and their application.
