Overview of the Next-Generation Synchrotron Radiation Facility NanoTerasu and Activities for Its Application in the Field of Life Sciences

The next-generation synchrotron radiation facility NanoTerasu is opening new possibilities for the analysis of a wide range of samples, including foods and biological materials. However, for many researchers who have not previously used synchrotron radiation, its advantages and practical challenges may not be immediately apparent. In this symposium, we will introduce recent examples of food and biological research utilizing NanoTerasu, and experienced users will share their insights and experiences regarding both the benefits and challenges of synchrotron-based experiments. By making synchrotron radiation more accessible and familiar to researchers from diverse backgrounds, this session aims to provide practical ideas for applying these techniques to new research questions and to foster opportunities for future collaboration.
