The light-absorption spectrum edge of the tin-based perovskite solar cell covers up to 1100 nm, which is longer than that of the lead perovskite solar cells. The bandgap is theoretically better than that of the lead perovskite solar cell. They also have small effective mass and ambipolar property similar to that of the lead perovskite solar cells. These theoretical values promise high efficiency of the tin perovskite solar cells. The efficiency of the Lead free tin perovskite solar cell and the tin-lead alloyed perovskite solar cells ais 15-16% and 23-24%, respectively. The current status of the tin-based perovskite single solar cell and the all-perovskite tandem solar cell consisting of the tin-based perovskite layer are reviewed and the future would be prospected.
