All of our social and economic activities, even the continuation of human life, depend on cyber infrastructure (the ICT infrastructure that supports the cyber world). Research and development is underway on next-generation cyber infrastructure that plays the role of a "lifeline" and allows people to maintain their lives, unaffected by coronavirus pandemics and increasingly frequent and severe natural disasters.
In this lecture, we will introduce the latest trends in information and communications technologies and discuss the expectations for research and development in advanced semiconductors.
