Keywords:

lipid bilayer,lateral diffusion

The interaction between the lipid bilayers and the supporting substrate which affect the lateral diffusion of lipid molecules is discussed. The influence of the substrate on the properties of lipid bilayers is clarified by evaluating the diffusion coefficient of each leaflet separately. It was found that the diffusion coefficient of the leaflet close to the substrate decreases due to the large interaction with the substrate, and at the same time, the effect is extended to the leaflet far from the substrate due to the coupling between the leaflets.
