Dodecylammonium iodide (DDAI) has attracted much attention as a raw material for organic-inorganic layered hybrid materials used in solar cells. We have reported the fabrication of layered hybrid materials from DDAI by vacuum deposition, but there have been limited reports on the structure of DDAI, especially none on thin films. In this study, we investigated the phase change behavior of DDAI thin films prepared by vacuum evaporation and compared the results with those of bulk powder samples.
